When the performance of a PV plant decreases, it is not an easy task to find the root cause. It may be due to external factors, such as reduced solar irradiation or excessive soiling of the modules. Internal factors can be the modules themselves, the wiring or the inverters. The reality is that it is often a combination of both, a fact that makes it extremely difficult to prioritize and decide what actions to take to restore performance.
